Rules & FAQ

These are general rules for each of the People's Radio Jams. They will be posted on Itch, and a permanent copy will live here on the website, as well as on Discord.

  1. No artificial intelligence, anywhere, ever. The whole point of making music is to enjoy the process, not the product. Other tools are okay; for example, FL Studio's Riff Generator or Chord Progression tool. Throwing the dice is not the same as typing a prompt.
  2. Time is precious. Your song (or collection of songs) must be at least thirty seconds in length and may not exceed fifteen minutes in length.
  3. Create as much as you want. If you want to write a fifteen-minute long rock opera, we say, go for it. If you want to make dozens of thirty-second tracks, we say, that's a lot of tracks but we respect it.
  4. Show us your DAW. A screenshot or recording of your DAW will help prove that your entry is legitimate.
  5. No work from before the jam began. Music jams are all about creating music, and fishing something out of your library to throw into a jam goes against the spirit of the jam.
  6. BE WEIRD. Don't restrict yourself according to what would or should sound good to someone else. Make something weird, make something new, make something downright bizarre. Your music should be listenable, but strange.
